FRANCES ARGENTO
Co-President
Frances (she/her) is in her final year of the Global Health Specialist program. She joined Students For Shelters (S4S) because she is passionate about the health and well-being of both her local and global neighbours. Frances has loved growing with S4S over the past few years and is grateful to be a part of the team during her final year of university!
SARA DURANTE
Co-President
Sara (she/her) is in her final year as an undergraduate student majoring in Environmental Studies and Women and Gender Studies. She is delighted to be Co-President of Students for Shelters UTSG for the 2021-2022 Academic Year! Sara has a passion for environmental justice, sustainability and social justice. She loves to unite and inspire students and faculty in University of Toronto to give back to local communities in Toronto. In her freetime, Sara enjoys playing competitive tennis and hiking along waterfront trails.
LISA TOI
Co-Vice President
Lisa (she/her) is a 4th year Peace, Conflict, and Justice specialist. She feels passionately about social issues such as homelessness, environmental justice, and animal rights. Through Students for Shelters, Lisa hopes to directly support those experiencing homelessness in and around Toronto. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies and hiking.
BEA KRALJII
Co-Vice President
Bea is a fourth year student double majoring in Physiology and Global Health. She joined S4S to learn more about the intersection between health and social inequalities in Toronto, as well as for the chance to apply concepts from her coursework to real life scenarios. Bea is passionate about pursuing a career in healthcare, as well as encouraging people to get involved in giving back to their community in a transparent and impactful way!
NATALIA LANDAVERDE
Finance Officer
Natalia is in her fourth year completing a double major in Criminology and English. This year she will be the Finance Officer on S4S! She was a general member last year but wanted to become more directly involved because of her appreciation for the club’s mission and the desire to learn about social justice which is why she joined the exec team! During her free time she enjoys reading, running and watching movies.
ADRIANNA FRUCI
Public Affairs Secretary
Adrianna (she/her) is a 5th year undergraduate student majoring in Health and Disease, with minors in Physiology and Immunology. She spends her free time volunteering at a hospital and local speech clinic, while also working at a swim school. She loves being able to help people and having an impact in their lives. Adrianna wants to use her executive position to help and impact others in the community. She wants Students for Shelters to be a committee that is welcoming and where everyone in the community can come together to achieve a common goal.
TALHA ANWAR CHAUDHRY
Public Affairs Secretary
Talha Anwar Chaudhry is a third-year undergraduate student in neuroscience specialist, physiology major, and psychology minor. Talha is a huge neuroscience and anatomy nerd with a passion for understanding the idiosyncrasies of humans and how they choose to act on them. He is aiming to get into medical school in order to directly benefit others from his interests, which has been his nature ever since. That is also why he chose to be a part of S4S, to be able to advocate, lead, learn, and make a difference while being surrounded by some of the most caring and brilliant minds at UofT. Apart from Talha’s academic interests, he loves to just look over at the horizon and wonder about the road not taken, and watch anime… he should have led with anime.
EZRA SKANDALAKIS
Note Taking Secretary
Ezra (they/she) is a third-year student majoring in Sexual Diversity Studies and double minoring in English and Classical Civilizations. They have a passion for helping others in need and advocating for equity. Drawing on personal experience, Ezra seeks to educate and comfort others in a variety of ways related to social justice. She joined Students For Shelters in hopes of learning more about how to ensure and enact sustainable assistance for homeless and at-risk people. In her free time, she is often painting, practicing yoga, or writing poems and short stories.
CHARLOTTE NUNN
Marketing Director
Charlotte will be working as Student for Shelters’ Marketing Director for the 2021-22 academic year. She is currently in her fourth year at U of T, studying International Relations with a double minor in Political Science and Diaspora & Transnational Studies. She loves to travel (when she can) and go on late night drives with friends (music up, windows down). She is also very passionate about helping the local community and has loved working with Students for Shelters to raise awareness about the challenges facing Toronto's homeless population.
DHILINI HAPUHENNEDIGE
Social Media Manager
Dhilini (she/her) is in the first year of the Master of Teaching program at the University of Toronto. Dhilini has been a part of the S4S social media team since it was founded in 2019, and she is incredibly passionate about working on the group’s creative and public image. By working with S4S, she is grateful to be able to connect with local organizations and help raise awareness about important issues. In her free time, Dhilini loves to travel, read, watch rom-coms, and drink lots of coffee!
NAOMI HUANG
Social Media Manager
Naomi (she/her) is a 3rd-year student double majoring in Sociology and Criminology and Sociolegal Studies. She loves to read, travel, and hang out with her dog. Naomi is passionate about social issues and justice, especially after this past year with her studies and the pandemic, which is why she joined Students for Shelters.
KELLYONA KHOUNBORIND
Webmaster
Kellyona (she/her) is a 4th-year undergraduate double majoring in Health and Disease and Immunology. She joined Students for Shelters because of her passion for social issues such as homelessness and to help and give back to the local and global community. With Students for Shelters, she hopes to learn more and raise awareness of issues that underprivileged communities face.
